A document issued in one country is not automatically accepted in another. Legalization — authentication — is the procedure that verifies a document's origin so that Egyptian authorities and foreign governments will trust it. Whether you are marrying in Egypt, registering property, completing a divorce or pursuing a case, the right authentications make the difference between smooth progress and repeated rejections.
For countries party to the Hague Apostille Convention, a single apostille certification is generally enough. For other countries, classic legalization applies as a chain: certification by a notary, the competent ministry, then the Egyptian consulate. We check the position for your specific country and document, so you follow the correct route from the start.
For use in Egypt, an authenticated document in another language generally requires a certified Arabic translation. The translation must be accurate and itself accepted by the target authority. We arrange certified translation as part of the same coordinated process, so nothing comes back to you half-finished.
We handle both directions: authenticating and translating foreign documents for use in Egypt, and attesting Egyptian documents — for example through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — for use abroad. For powers of attorney specifically, see our power of attorney in Egypt guide.
You send the documents (or we prepare them), and we coordinate every authority and translation, keeping you informed. We confirm acceptance requirements before you pay anything, and handle renewals or corrections where an authority requests changes.
